How is it different from other password managers?

Unlike most password managers secureDATA doesn't limit you by only allowing you to store passwords. It allows you to store any type of textual data. Have a lot of those electronic reciepts? Great! drop them in. Have some sensitive information that you don't want your coworkers to stumble across you can add that too. secureDATA is more than just a password manager it is a secure information manager

How can I be sure this program is secure?

secureDATA and all of its constituent parts are Open Source. You or some one you trust can look through and verify that the program is doing what is supposed to do. The encryption algorithm itself is deemed secure for documents up to SECRET clearance by the NSA. There are no known attacks against AES encryption or the secure hash algorithm, MD2, used in this program. For more security notes on implementation of the algorithms please see this page.

What is the primary goal of this project?

To provide end users with a easy to use interface to government standard encryption.
